Thanks to the rise of mobile devices, how people are searching on Google and other search engines has shifted dramatically from even a few short years ago.
In this insightful article from Google it outlines that more and more, people are looking for things in their area around them — be it a gym or a mall, a plumber, or a cup of coffee. Google search interest in “near me” has increased 34X since 2011 and nearly doubled since last year. The vast majority of these searches are coming from mobile—80% in the last quarter of 2014 alone.
Not only that – 50% of consumers who conduct a local search on their mobile device visit a store within a day, and 18% of those searches lead to a purchase within a day.
So is your website ready for this new way of searching? Is it mobile ready? Are you making it easy for visitors to find the information they need when looking at your website on their mobile devices? If not, you are losing sales and new clients.
