Facebook are making more changes to their pages. After launching a new page look earlier this year the social media giant is now bringing out more new features for their business pages including templates which are rolling out globally today.
Page templates give Facebook page owners new ways of displaying the information on their pages including repositioning their call to actions and tabs depending on the type of service they are offering. However, it should be noted that no matter what template is choosen it won’t radically change the look and feel of your page.
You can find the new templates through the Page Settings > Edit Page. You should then see a Templates option.

When you click on the edit button, a new window will appear that shows you the range of templates available along with some brief details that you then expand to learn more information about each page template along with seeing a wireframe design of how each page template will appear should you select it for your page.

There are currently 7 different page templates:
Standard
Good for all Page types, with buttons and tabs to help showcase what’s important to you.
Professional Services
Designed to help people find your services and get in touch.
Shopping
Designed to showcase products and make it easy for people to shop online.
Venues
Designed so you can highlight useful info like your venue’s hours, location, and upcoming events.
Gaming
Designed to showcase Games, including a tab for Groups where people can find other fans.
Politicians
Designed to help politicians reach their supporters and communicate their message.
Restaurants & Cafes
Designed to highlight photos and important info about your menu, hours and location.
If you do choose a different template, I recommend that you check over your tabs and other links on your page to ensure they are still all working correctly after the change, especially if you have been using third-party Facebook apps on your page.

I would hope this is the first step in a bigger plan that will eventually lead to Facebook allowing users to fully customize the way their pages appear.
